How to reach Piran

By car: Being close to Italy and Croatia, Piran is very easily accessible by car. It lies only 34 km from the Italian and 16 km from the Slovenian motorway (note that before accessing the motorways you have to pay a Toll sticker See details). After leaving the bags in the hotel, the car should be parked at Fornace park, which is 800m from Tartini Square, along the seafront. As you enter Piran, you will see the car park on your left as you come downhill and see the waterfront. Ask the hotel desk for more information. There is a regular shuttle-bus from the car park to Tartini Square. Piran can be accessed from the direction Ljubljana/Trieste–Koper–Izola–Portorož–Piran.

By train: The Koper railway station is 16 km from Piran. The Trieste railway station is 40 km from Piran. Then may go to Piran by bus (ses below) or by taxi.

By bus: The Piran Bus Station is situated at the gateway to the old town centre of Piran, right by the sea. There is a frequent service between Koper and Piran (http://www.vozni-red.si/bus.php?x=Koper&y=Piran, http://www.vozni-red.si/bus.php?x=Piran&y=Koper), and a regular service from Trieste railway station to Koper, and some direct connections from Trieste railway station to (9.00, 12.30 am) and from (6.45 am) Piran. By plane: The Portorož Airfield is 8km from the town of Piran, international Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport 145km, and Ronchi Airport, Italy, 80km. A shuttle service GoOpti may be used for transfers (http://www.goopti.com).
